Peace through forgiveness and loving light

Second of the second review sessions continues with the idea that my function is to bring peace onto the world through forgiveness and unconditional love. From ACIM workbook:

The light of the world brings peace to every mind through my forgiveness.

Suggestions for specific forms for applying this idea are:

Let peace extend from my mind to yours, [name].
I share the light of the world with you, [name].
Through my forgiveness I can see this as it is.

First long practice period:

  • Yesterday I mentioned that I discovered there was still some residual forgiveness I need to do.
As I’m writing this I came up with the image of an onion. That may be what forgiveness is about. As you peal one layer of the onion the next layer is revealed. In the same way after you forgive the supposed major hurts and clear those, smaller hurts reveal themselves. Now these need be forgiven.
Remember A Course in Miracles keeps reminding us that there are no small upsets. It’s like you cannot be a little bit pregnant. In the same way either you have peace or you do not have peace. Peace comes through release of all resentments. You release resentments by giving up on hurt, on vengeance and forgiving.
When you forgive, resentment and hatred are replaced with love and compassion.
When you have total unconditional love and compassion you achieve total peace.
That is the peace of God which is your natural inheritance as the only begotten child of God.
  • I have started my new job this week and do not have much time off to do these practices and write about them. However, today was my day off and I did a long forgiveness meditation.
It was wonderful.  I saw this wonderful shimmering white light which came from the heavens and entered my body through crown of my head (the crown chakra to be precise). My whole body was filled with the white light as I forgave.
I felt ever so happy as I forgave and received the light…

Second review:

Let me not forget my function.

Suitable specific forms of this idea include:

Let me not use this to hide my function from me.
I would use this as an opportunity to fulfill my function.
This may threaten my ego, but cannot change my function in any way.

Second long practice period:

  • What is my function but to be happy and at peace?
  • Love is the source of happiness.
  • Forgiveness removes resentments – it’s like cleaning a window to let the light shine through.
Once you forgive the world’s natural light of love and compassion shine through…
