Only God’s plan for salvation will work

From ACIM workbook for today:

[] you believe, [] “If this were different, I would be saved.” The change of mind necessary for salvation is thus demanded of everyone and everything except yourself.

Begin the two longer practice periods for today by thinking about today’s idea, and realizing that it contains two parts, each making equal contribution to the whole. God’s plan for your salvation will work, and other plans will not…

Remembering this, let us devote the remainder of the extended practice periods to asking God to reveal His plan to us. Ask Him very specifically:

What would You have me do?
Where would You have me go?
What would You have me say, and to whom?

Give Him full charge of the rest of the practice period, and let Him tell you what needs to be done by you in His plan for your salvation. He will answer in proportion to your willingness to hear His Voice. Refuse not to hear. The very fact that you are doing the exercises proves that you have some willingness to listen. This is enough to establish your claim to God’s answer.

In the shorter practice periods, tell yourself often that God’s plan for salvation, and only His, will work. Be alert to all temptation to hold grievances today, and respond to them with this form of today’s idea:

Holding grievances is the opposite of God’s plan for salvation. And only His plan will work.

Try to remember today’s idea some six or seven times an hour. There could be no better way to spend a half minute or less than to remember the Source of your salvation, and to see It where It is.

First long practice session was very long and very deep. I started it with my “Aligning yourself with the Universe” meditation which send unconditional love and compassion to all and gets you to unity and beyond…

I felt very good and it lasted a long time but I don’t remember much of what happened.

This being Sunday I’ll do three long practices – so second long practice:

  • Not my will but thy will be done.
  • I remembered times I asked for God’s intervention and magic happened.
I was having a rough time many many years ago and I said, “Dear God you know much better than I what I need, I surrender (submit) to your will. In less than five minutes the phone rang and an old friend returned into my life (from another country I had not seen for two years – totally unexpectedly). This was exactly the right person to solve my problems of the time. The point was that once I sincerely admitted that I was relying on God’s plan miracles happened which changed my life.
Just now I’m in similar condition. I know my plans and my resources have not been  working…
  • Accidentally I hit the wrong button and published this post when I did not mean to. I accept that as part of my plan.
  • Anyway, after that remembering times that God has sent me miracles and miracles I have witnessed in other people’s lives after forgiving, I started thanking God for all the gifts he/she (God is genderless and both masculine and feminine simultaneously but never only masculine as imagined by patriarchal religions) has given me.
  • I next just allowed the attitude of gratitude  to engulf me with a pink light of unconditional love.  It is that thankfulness and love are part of the same feeling. Many mystics believer that we should thank God with each breath that we take. I forget to do that but think it is the right thing to do.
I disagree with the Christian mythos of “God so loved humanity that he sent his only son to be sacrificed, etc. etc. …”
I think God so loved that created such a beautiful, wondrous, abundant universe…
Thank you God! Let thy will be done.

I’m now going for a short walking meditation – more when I return.

  • I noticed the more thankful you are the more beautiful everything looks.
The more thankful you are the more you love.
The interesting thing is that as I had this attitude of gratitude – as I was thanking God with every breath – even garbage in the street looked so beautiful. I wish I had a bag to pick up the garbage and clean the street. The way I felt I would have done that gladly. Next time I’ll take gloves and a bag and clean the street.

Time to be done for the day. I’ll do one more long session tonight and if something interesting happens I’ll report on it.

Love and peace.
