My name is Javad Hashtroudian. I have a doctorate in clinical hypnotherapy. Some people cannot remember Javad so I use my initial (J really not Jay) but anyway one of my clients started calling me doctor Jay so I got this URL. As well as my private practice I give seminars on many subjects including weight management, manifestation of your desires, relationships, stress management, performance anxiety, improving grades at school, and others as asked for. So in this section I will write about issues that I talk about in my seminars, CDs, ebooks and so on. I'll post links to some audio and things like that.

There are great evolutionary reasons why fat is so tasty. Think of that wonderful blood vessel clogging desert full of cream and sugar. Yum,yum, yum! It tastes great since for all but the last ten thousand years (after the agrarian revolution) of the two million or so that our branch of the hominids has existed we have been hunter gatherers living in a state of constant hunger and feast and famine. In fact lack of food has been the lot of the majority of homo sapiens until about a hundred years ago and even now a third of the world population goes to sleep each night hungry.
So our hunter gatherer ancestors had to store as much energy as possible as efficiently as possible. Note that one gram of carbohydrate has four calories as has one gram of protein but fat stores nine calories of energy per gram. At the same time we burned calories as we walked to gather seeds, fruits and nuts or more importantly ran after the animal we hunted, and even much more importantly when we ran away from the animals which were hoping to hunt us. For all these reasons we stored fat (keeps us lightest for a given amount of energy storage) and we loved fat since we could maximize our energy input.
These evolutionary gains have become dangerous when we gather at the super market and hunt in the fast food establishment. It has been established that our hunter/gatherer ancestors in fact expended about 40% more energy per day than the amount of exercise recommended by the government for fitness while consuming way fewer calories than we do.
So next time eat a smaller portion and exercise more and be kind to yourself. Two million (and in fact way beyond that for our pre-ancestors) years of evolution have made our genes fat loving. The point is that as intelligent conscious beings we can overcome our well meaning genes which were good but are no longer useful - in this case. On way of overcoming our genes is through hypnosis and visualization and that is the reason we use visualization as a major aspect of the Michelangelo Weight and Life Managment Seminar.
