My name is Javad Hashtroudian. I have a doctorate in clinical hypnotherapy. Some people cannot remember Javad so I use my initial (J really not Jay) but anyway one of my clients started calling me doctor Jay so I got this URL. As well as my private practice I give seminars on many subjects including weight management, manifestation of your desires, relationships, stress management, performance anxiety, improving grades at school, and others as asked for. So in this section I will write about issues that I talk about in my seminars, CDs, ebooks and so on. I'll post links to some audio and things like that.

Men over 50 get annual PSA (prostate-specific antigen) and DRE (digital rectal exam) tests to protect you from death from prostate cancer. The tests will save your life.
Women over 40 (and all people in general) eat plenty of soy products. Advantages of soy: lowers cholesterol; may help protect the hearts of postmenopausal women; may lower chances of breast cancer; may protect against osteoporosis; may help protect against prostate cancer. I write may because there is not yet enough research to prove these benefits but given the current research I believe all the above “mays” by the preponderance of the scientific evidence.
Avoid high glycemic index vegetables such as potatoes, white rice, carrots, beets and corn if you have problems with sugar – that’s to say if you have any insulin problems. Also remember bread can have a high glycemic index. In general it is best to mix high glycemic foods with those of low glycemic index such as green leafy vegetables.
A little bit of exercise is better than no exercise at all. A few years ago it was believed that the heart needed at least thirty minutes of aerobic activity to be protected. Recently it has been demonstrated that any physical activity is good for the cardio-vascular system. In fact thirty minutes of activity a day even in one minute burst is nearly as good as a continuous thirty minutes of exercise. So park your car the other side of the car park. Walk up the stairs. If you must be a couch potato, fidget. By the way: a study of 500 NASA employees found that those who kept to a regular weekly schedule of exercise appropriate for their weight didn’t gain any weight over a ten year period, no matter what eating habits they had.
In order to avoid food born illness: always wash your hands in hot, soapy water before preparing and after handling raw meat, poultry, seafood or eggs; Cook all meat and poultry at a minimum temperature of 325 degrees F; keep your refrigerator at no more than 40 F and freezer 0 F.
P.S. even though I went to the gym as I write this I lift a light dumbbell a few times to burn a few more calories and keep fit. I am listening to a cd on stress management at this instance to prepare for my next “From Burnout To Peace Through Serenity – Stress Reduction Seminar” and there was a bit that apparently climbing stairs for six minutes a day will add two years to your life. The point is that you can exercise without going to the gym.
