My name is Javad Hashtroudian. I have a doctorate in clinical hypnotherapy. Some people cannot remember Javad so I use my initial (J really not Jay) but anyway one of my clients started calling me doctor Jay so I got this URL. As well as my private practice I give seminars on many subjects including weight management, manifestation of your desires, relationships, stress management, performance anxiety, improving grades at school, and others as asked for. So in this section I will write about issues that I talk about in my seminars, CDs, ebooks and so on. I'll post links to some audio and things like that.

Just say no....

I’m talking about over the counter drugs for colds and flues. I have something (a slight fever, my nose is running, my ears ache, and I can hardly swallow), and I’m not sure what is it is except it is not much fun. At the same time I’m giving a seminar this Saturday (three and a half days time). I need to get ready for it and I need to make a hypnosis CD before then.

Thus I need my brain (half working at this time and my voice not working at all)….

I could take Terraflu or something like that to get rid of the symptoms or this is what I’m doing:

  • Drink lots and lots of hot water. It makes me sweat even more.
  • Gargle with more or less normal saline - a pinch of salt in a cup of hat water.
  • Wear warm clothes and cover up so I sweat. I towel the sweat off and change my clothes every two to four hours to remain clean and comfortable.
  • Taking lots of Vitamin C, E, and other anti-oxidants.
  • Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables. This may be a problem if the cold is in the stomach.
  • Listen to self-hypnosis CDs. This is easy for me. Go to doctorjay-hypnosis.com to get your free MP3 download.

Now for reason behind not taking so called cold drugs. These get rid of the symptoms but in fact prolong the dis-ease. The fever etc. are the bodies natural reaction to the disease and are part the healing process. Of course if the fever goes too high you may need to take an aspirin or something similar but under normal low intensity colds my way is better. Now for the legal caveat:
This is not supposed to be advise to anyone other than myself. Always consult your physician when you have any problems etc. etc. etc…..

My final comment. It’s a sad world when you have to have so many caveats. But, I’m a doctor of clinical hypnosis and not an MD so I have to watch my rear.

Mean Arterial Pressure

The blood pressure is in our body is constantly changing and this variation in time is part of the human physiology and biology. This is because we do different things like eat, sit and stand, breath differently, move around and do many other things throughout a day. Most importantly our minds move all the time. At times we are calm (lowers our blood pressure) and then unfortunately we worry, are anxious, agitated and otherwise out of kilter and this raises our blood pressure.

Every time that we do something different, our blood pressure will change. It is going to react to the different position that we are in. it is very important that doctors and other professionals have the set rate for each person that relates to blood pressure and what it should be. It is just impossible for anyone to take his or her blood pressure all the time
throughout the day.

This is where mean arterial pressure becomes important.

Mean arterial pressure is defined as the average arterial pressure during a single cardiac cycle. It is calculated using the following formula:
MAP = (CO \times SVR) + CVP, where

* CO is cardiac output
* SVR is systemic vascular resistance
* CVP is central venous pressure

CVP is usually small enough to be neglected in this formula.

This is estimated as:
MAP = [(2 x diastolic)+systolic] / 3

Mean arterial pressure ultimately stands for the average value of a person’s blood pressure throughout a normal day.

For the mean arterial pressure to allow an organ to operate the way that it should, it will have to be at around 60 mm Hg. This is going to be enough to take on an organ for the average size person as long as it is remains at this spot. If the value would fall below the average, this will mean that there is not enough blood pumping into the organ and this will cause the organ to become ischemic. This will be result of tissue damage to the organ and it is a very good idea that the mean arterial pressure be checked and calculated on a regular basis.

Different health officials will make it a good idea to check the value of a person’s arterial pressure when they take a person’s blood pressure. It is just one of the many calculations that have to be made in conjunction with blood pressure and what is going to make the body run better and more efficiently.

Bikram yoga

I have never dome Bikram yoga but my sister loves it. I do go the sauna after exercising and do know that I feel much more flexible in the heat. I will go to a Bikram yoga studio soon and will report on it myself. The following article was written by someone else - I did re-edit it:

Bikram yoga was developed by Bikram Choudhury. You do the Bikram yoga in a room that is heated to 95-105 degrees Fahrenheit. The room is also high in humidity. This increases your flexibility and will lower the risk of muscular injury. The sweat will help you get rid of all toxins. The hot temperatures will help you to get toned, reduce your weight and strengthen your immune system.

This type of hot yoga includes about 26 poses and it also includs two breathing exercises which are performed twice within an hour an half. The room is carpeted and has mirrors. It is a very intense workout. The benefits of bikram yoga include relieving chronic pain and even reducing symptoms from some diseases.

Since this yoga master, born in 1946, is still living, he can file lawsuits. And he does. He refuses to allow his name to be attached to generic yoga practiced in a hot room, demanding that instructors of Bikram yoga follow his proscribed yoga methods and be properly certified from his institute, the Yoga College of India, founded in 1974. He has tried to copyright his series of 26 poses and tries to claim rights over all sequences that have substantial similarity. There are some people who are bothered by his methods of self-expansion (such as opening franchises of yoga studios).

Many people will use the term “hot” yoga so that they are able to avoid a lawsuit. Any yoga that takes place in a hot room might be called Hot Yoga; it may or may not precisely follow Bikram Choudhury’s precise proscribed methods. If you want to take a hot yoga class you will want to make sure that you go to a certified studio to teach you’re the method correctly. If you want to take a Bikram yoga class, make sure the studio you choose for your class is certified to teach the method.

When taking a Hot Yoga class, you must have your own mat and towel to handle the profuse sweat. Most students also choose to wear little clothing, to avoid overheating. You want to drink plenty of water and water only. You will find that it can make you dehydrated if you don’t drink water. Also, you will want to avoid eating within two hours prior to class. You should drink well over eight glasses of water on days you have Hot Yoga classes.

Self Improvement Ideas

Everything that happens to us happens in purpose. And sometimes, one thing leads to another. Instead of locking yourself up in your cage of fears and crying over past heartaches, embarrassment and failures, treat them as your teachers and they will become your tools in both self improvement and success.

Here are a few tips:

  • Stop thinking and feeling as if you’re a failure, because you’re not. In reality there is no such thing as failure but only results.
  • When you see hunks and models on TV, think more on self improvement, not self pitying. Self acceptance is not just about having nice slender legs, or great abs. Concentrate on inner beauty.
  • When people feel so down and low about themselves, help them move up. Don’t go down with them. They’ll pull you down further and both of you will end up feeling inferior.
  • The world is a large room for lessons. When you think you have made a mistake ask, “What can I learn here? How can I improve next time?”
  • Take things one step at a time. Self improvement is a one day at a time process.
  • Self improvement comes from self confidence, self appreciation and self esteem.
  • Set meaningful and achievable goals. I’ll write more about correct goal setting later.
  • Little things mean a lot to other people. Appreciate people and show your appreciation.
  • We should always remember that there’s no such thing as ‘overnight success’. Behind every overnight success there are thousands of days (and nights) or hard work, persistence, and self improvement.

Listen to your inner words

Shhhhh…..

Go inside…..

Listen to your thoughts. Now tell me, what thoughts fill your head? Would you label them as positive, or negative?

Now let’s say you are walking down the street with these thoughts. Do you think anyone who would meet you would be able to tell you what’s on your mind?

The answer to number one is up to you. But, the answer number two can be pretty generic. Although people will not be able to tell you exactly what you think, they will more or less have an idea of how you are feeling.

Here’s another question. When you enter a party filled with friends, do they all fall silent as if something terrible had happened? Or does everybody there perk up as if waiting for something exciting to happen?

You know what? The answer to all these depends on your frame of mind.

Thoughts are very powerful. They affect your general attitude. The attitude you carry reflects on your appearance, too – unless, of course, you are a great actor.

And it doesn’t end there. Your attitude can also affect people around you.

The type of attitude you carry depends on you. It can be either positive or negative.

Positive thoughts have a filling effect. They are admittedly invigorating. Plus, the people around the person carrying positive thoughts are usually energized by this type of attitude.

Negative thoughts on the other hand have a sapping effect on other people. Aside from making you look gloomy and sad, negative thoughts can turn a festive gathering into a funeral wake.

A positive attitude attracts people, while a negative attitude repels them. People tend to shy away from those who carry a negative attitude.

We can also define attitude as the way of looking at the world. If you choose to focus on the negative things in the world, more or less you have a negative attitude brewing up. However, if you choose to focus on the positive things, you are more likely carry a positive attitude.

You have much to gain from a very positive attitude. For one, studies have shown that a positive attitude promotes better health. Those with this kind of attitude also have more friends. projecting a positive attitude also helps one to handle stress and problems better than those who have a negative attitude.

A positive attitude begins with a healthy self-image. If you will love the way you are and are satisfied, confident, and self-assured, you also make others are around feel the same way.

A negative attitude, on the other hand, has, of course, an opposite effect. So, carrying a negative attitude has a twofold drawback. You feel bad about yourself, and you make others feel the same way.

If you want to have a positive attitude, you have to feature healthy thoughts. This is probably very hard to do nowadays since, all around us, the media feeds us nothing but negative thoughts. A study shows that for every 14 things a parent says to his or her child, only one is positive. This is truly a saddening thought.

If you want a healthier outlook in life, you need to think happy thoughts, and you have to hear positive things as well. So, what can you do? Well, for starters, you could see a funny movie, you could play with children, spend some time telling jokes with friends. All these activities fill you with positive stimuli, which in turn promotes positive attitude.

Although it is impossible to keep ourselves from the negative things around us, you can still carry a positive attitude by focusing on the good things, the positive things in life.

And this positive attitude you now carry can be of benefit to other people. Sometimes when other people feel down, the thing people mostly do is try to give them advice. But sometimes, all they need is somebody to sit by them, and listen to them. If you have a positive attitude you may be able to cheer them up without even having to say anything.

If positive attitude is really great, why do people choose to adopt a negative attitude instead? One who carries a negative attitude may be actually sending a signal for attention. Before you get me wrong, feeling sad, angry, or gloomy is not wrong itself. But dwelling on these thoughts for far too long is not healthy either. There is a time to mourn.

As always, if you are beset by troubles, even in your darkest hour, focus on the good things in life, you will always have hope. Problems become something you can overcome.

You do not have much to lose by adopting a healthy, positive attitude. Studies show that such an attitude actually retards aging, makes you healthier, helps you develop a better stress coping mechanism, and has a very positive effect on all the people you meet every day. So, what’s not to like about a positive attitude? Adopt one today.

Mega Antioxidant Therapy

My left leg and feet have been tingling for a month or so and this is long enough for me to be concerned. I believe the tingling is caused by lack of adequate blood circulation. I have tried massaging my left leg but to no avail. I think there may be a blood clot or some kind of obstruction in my arteries or veins leading to or away from my leg. This could potentially be dangerous and so if my analysis and cure does not work very soon (within one week) I’ll go and see my physician.

In the meanwhile I have started a “Mega Antioxidant Therapy” regime. I’m taking a large dose of antioxidants ever two hours when awake. That means I have at least one gram of vitamin C and a grape seed extract, Pycnogenol or pomegranate extract each two hours with some fruit and tea. Thus I’m keeping my blood stream totally saturated with strong water soluble antioxidants for the next few days to allow my leg to heal itself.

I’ll write about the result later. Please understand that even I manage to heal myself it could be thanks to the placebo or some other effect. Aso not that both self diagnosis and self medication are absolutely stupid and can only be done when you are basically so healthy that you can afford to take a risk. To be safe you should always consult your physician whenever there is a change in your body.

The Psychology of Scams

I just wrote, “If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is” which is a a great advice, but the trick is understanding when “good” becomes “too good.” There’s no easy way of knowing. Investment fraudsters make their living by making sure the deals they tout appear both good and true.

They’re masters of persuasion, tailoring their pitches to match the psychological profiles of their targets. They look for your Achilles’ heel by asking seemingly benign questions—about your health, family, political views, hobbies or prior employers. Once they know which buttons to push, they’ll bombard you with a flurry of influence tactics, which can leave even the savviest person in a haze. Some of the most common tactics include:

* The “Phantom Riches” Tactic – dangling the prospect of wealth, enticing you with something you want but can’t have. “These gas wells are guaranteed to produce $6,800 a month in income.”
* The “Source Credibility” Tactic – trying to build credibility by claiming to be with a reputable firm, or to have a special credential or experience. “Believe me, as a senior vice president of XYZ Firm, I would never sell an investment that doesn’t produce.”
* The “Social Consensus” Tactic – leading you to believe that other savvy investors have already invested. “This is how ___ got his start. I know it’s a lot of money, but I’m in—and so is my mom and half of her church—and it’s worth every dime.”
* The “Reciprocity” Tactic – offering to do a small favor for you in return for a big favor. “I’ll give you a break on my commission if you buy now—half off.”
* The “Scarcity” Tactic – creating a false sense of urgency by claiming limited supply. “There are only two units left, so I’d sign today if I were you.”

By the way all the above persuasion techniques are perfectly reasonable persuasion techniques when used to sell you great service that you need and that makes differentiate between genuine offers and scams. The real thing is to understand the above methods of persuasion and think for yourself and really understand that it is better to make seven percent that you actually make rather than fifty percent which ends up taking all your investments down the drain into the fraudsters’ pockets.

Don't be scamed

If it looks too good to be true, chances are it is too good to be true. I just got a letter which started with, “Would you like the opportunity to earn up to $1,000 weekly assembling our booklets at home….”

The nonsense goes on giving details of what you have to do to make $10 for assembling each booklet and claims you can make ten booklets each 60-90 minutes.

Imagine, in a world of automation and cheap overseas (globalized) labor someone is going to pay you for between $100 to $65 an hour to hand assemble these booklets.

At the end you are asked to send $45 deposit plus $5 shiping to a p.o. box in Florida and you’re better off buying swamp in Florida than making any money our of this junk.

Debacatastromire - I claim it

Today I used the word debacatastromire it is a neologism created from the concatenation of debacle, catastrophe, and quagmire. When I first used it in another of my blogs I had not checked to see if anyone else had used it anyway I claim it as a new word created by me on this June 4th, 2008. Please help get into the dictionary by using it on your sites.

I never see what is here

In a course in Miracles on day 9 the thought for the day is: I see nothing as it is now.

Modern cognitive science has shown that when light hits one’s retina, about one-tenth of a second goes by before the brain translates the signal into a visual perception of the world. So the course as I have written before is literally true.

Scientists already knew about the lag, yet they have debated over exactly how we compensate, with one school of thought proposing our motor system somehow modifies our movements to offset the delay.

Latest research has demonstrated our visual system has evolved to compensate for neural delays, generating images of what will occur one-tenth of a second into the future. That foresight keeps our view of the world in the present. It gives one enough heads up to catch a fly ball (instead of getting socked in the face) and maneuver smoothly through a crowd or drive a car. It is this same predictive “imagineering” which causes many optical illusions. Basically our brains fill up whatever is not there but should be there to form a gestalt. Thus if you have a broken triangle with one apex missing and we project the image onto a person’s retina such that the missing apex is at the blind spot the brain fills the missing part and imagines in a full unbroken triangle.

Similarly when we hypnotize a person and give a post hypnotic suggestion to say open a window at a given trigger, the person takes the action but justifies it by a making up a story like the room was warm. even more impressive is that if we use hypnosis to negatively hallucinate an identical used stamp (of course there are minor differences because of the franking postal marks) and we suggest the person does not see the center stamp by pointing at it and giving a suggestion such as, “You will not see this stamp wherever it is". Now we move the stamp to the left stamp. The subject does not see the left stamp. Thus in fact the person has to see the stamp more clearly than in normal waking consciousness in order not to see it.

So as A Course In Miracles writes:

I see nothing as it is now.

A sucker is born every minute

A sucker is born every minute: P.T. Barnum and last night the sucker was me. It was late and I was tired. I had already done what I hoped to do and achieved my goals for the day and the devil made trouble for my idle hands. I started looking through my emails.

One promising thousands of extra hits a day intrigued me. I was hoping to get more visitors to my preowned Rolex watches and skin care sites. The software costs $50.00 and maybe I’m a fool but I’m not a fool I did not expect 1000 hits a day for that cost I would have been satisfied with ten a day per site as I have a few sites that would have been quite cheap.

Moreover, there was a guarantee and I know when you pay with credit card you are pretty safe aa far as getting your money back is concerned. So I bought it and foolishly used it. With the result that my preowned Rolex watches dropped from position 13 on the keyword “preowned Rolex watches” to 178.

Oh well…. Back to the drawing board. As they say if it is too good to be true, it most probably is too good to be true. I just did not realize that I was going to suffer this much.

The lesson of the day is rest on your laurels. Do not take action when you are tired and coincidently don’t go to the supermarket when you are hungry.

Lose weight to save gas

No I don’t mean your weight. By now you should know that I always tell my weight reduction clients to lose weight loss from their terminology and instead use weight management and weight reduction. The weight loss I’m talking about is the weight of the junk you may carry in your car. So many people use their cars (especially the boot - trunk) as a storage room. so empty your car and be nicely surprised to notice the improvement in your gas mileage.

Note the increase of the weight of cars over the last twenty years is one of the main reasons the fuel economy has not improved even though the engines have become more efficient. In 1990 the Honda Civic GX weighed 2000 pounds and got about 50 M.P.G. Since then even economy cars have got heavier. Thus today the equivalent car the Honda Fit weighs in at 2400 pounds (the engine is also a little perkier - has an extra 15 horse power) and only does 35 M.P.G.

By the way when you look at the totality of life cycle pollution the Honda Fit is more “Green” than the hybrids which cause huge amount of pollution thanks to the use if so much lead in the batteries.

Take a risk in foods

The best diet for health and weight management is a diet of diverse different mostly fruits and vegetables and less meats. One advantage of globalization is that we get foods from all over the world. For example we have a Korean supermarket in Hacienda Heights, where we live. The other day I bought an Asian green “marrow” of some kind - I’m calling it marrow since I don’t know what it’s called. I sliced it today and cooked it in the microwave. I don’t know if I’m doing it right or not. It tastes good and I took a risk and feel good and I’m sure this change from normal marrow is doing me good.

My revenge at losing my virginity

Today I lost my $4.00 a gallon gas virginity (it was $4.11) so here is my first clue on how to save money on gas: use the lowest grade gas you can get away with. The only difference between the different grades is the octane number. They are just as clean as each other and in fact most modern engines have total electronic control and the computer will alter the timing accordingly. For example my car prefers premium gasoline but works fine with regular it produces 220 horse power instead of 240 with premium, and in reality the 220o is plenty too much….

If you have older car just experiment so you find a mixture which does not “ping.” So you may get a mixture of two gallon middle with three of regular. So use the right gas and save, save, save…. and tell the oil companies where to go!

Protect your skin by going on a make upfast

This is the beginning of a post from another blog. The idea is that too much make up is bad for your skin and it is best to take a day off each week from wearing make up. I called it “Remember the Sabbath and keep it pure.”

So take a makeup fast for a day. Allow your skin to breath detoxify itself. You can also read about skin care at http://777skincare.com.

When to give up

I wrote this morning about ways of getting over a wall as a metaphor for problem solving. There are times when we should not throw good money/time after bad and we should stop no matter how much effort we have spent on a project. The sooner we stop the loss the better off we are.

So this morning after trying to solve my problem rapidly a few times I gave up and decided not to waste any more time but do it slowly. So, I’m still going to get there but I’m doing the sure way knowing that the shortcut way was getting me lost and I better take the mapped territory.

It is a difficult choice that we have to make and that is when should we take the straight and narrow well trodden road and when to take the path less traveled and in reality both are needed. Sometimes this and at times that. Wisdom comes in knowing which is which. Thus according to most true divination systems there is no tight or wrong action but an action may be right or wrong in context especially in the context of time. Thus as the Ecclesiastics writes, “A time to sow, a time to reap…. For everything there is a season.”

Ways of getting to the other side of a wall

I use this as a metaphor for problem solving. You come to a wall and must get to the other side what do you do.

  • Keep bashing your head against it. Repeating the same set of actions over and over gain as though something which did not work once will suddenly magically work on the hundredth attempt. You end up with a broken and bloody head.
  • You find a ladder. Get helpers.
  • You rest and think about it or just rest.
  • You look for doors in the wall. Are there any shortcuts?
  • You discover how long the wall is. Can you get to th other side by just walking to one side. This is lateral thinking.

I’m installing some software and it did not work. The software came with absolutely minimum instruction. This is part of the install instruction:

//// INSTRUCTION
Due to recent changes in PHP and SQL, the structure of the code may change. Therefore, errors may come up on new servers and not on old ones…

The major error occurs when trying to view the products in a categories on the homepage. Instead of showing the products in the category, it gives a SQL error. This can be fixed by replacing the two files, index.php and advanced_search_result.php (in the patch.zip) with the two original files in the homepage of the site.

Another error that doesn’t happen as much is when you enter the admin area and you get a
can’t reassign $this error. This can be fixed by replacing the upload.php file listed in the error with the upload.php file in the patch.zip
/// END OF INSTRUCTION

Anyway I did various things (not identical but similar - so this was equivalent to hitting my head against the wall.” So I took some time off. I went to bed but could not go to sleep. I hypnotized myself and then decided to take a different approach. This was like looking for a door in the wall. There was a door that I found. I installed a similar software and found a new but passable wall on the other side. So that’s where I am just now. I thought I would take some time off to allow my unconscious mind to sort out how to solve the next problem but I’m so glad that I have moved forward and I know a way of getting to my goal but I wish to get there quicker and easier.

I will write more once I have reached my goal.

Men, testosterone and sports

Men suffer from from testosterone poisoning and it causes us so much harm. I don’t know if watching sports increases testosterone level or increases our receptivity to the male hormone. What I do know is that more women are battered by their husbands and boy friends on Super Bowl night than any other.

There is football (soccer to those who do not speak English) hooliganism in Europe and most importantly for me on days like today when I watch Formula One motor racing (the pinnacle of motor racing) I end up driving crazy while so many Sunday drivers end up driving so slowly. Two weeks ago I was very frustrated after the last Grand Prix.

However, forewarned is fore something or other so today I’ll remember to take a deep breath and drive slowly….

Later, I’ll write about why (the clue is “Y") men are so stupid in many ways…. And “Y” in reality (other than brute force and ignorance) are the weaker sex.

FDA and cosmetics

Two questions from http://777skincare.com:

Does FDA (food and drugs agency) approve cosmetics before they go on the market?

FDA’s legal authority over cosmetics is different from other products regulated by the agency, such as drugs, biologics, and medical devices. Cosmetic products and ingredients are not subject to FDA premarket approval authority, with the exception of color additives. However, FDA may pursue enforcement action against products, firms or individuals who violate the law.

If FDA cannot regulate cosmetic safety then Who is responsible?

Cosmetic firms are responsible for substantiating the safety of their products and ingredients before marketing. Failure to adequately substantiate the safety of a cosmetic product or its ingredients prior to marketing causes the product to be misbranded unless the following warning statement appears conspicuously on the principal display panel of the product’s label:

“Warning–The safety of this product has not been determined.” (21 CFR 740.10)

Antibiotic resistance

Antibiotic drugs save lives by killing bacteria which are a kind of germ (viruses which are not affected by antibiotics are the other kind). However, thanks to overuse and abuse of antibiotics, some bacteria get so strong that they can resist the drugs. This is called resistance - micro-evolution at work. The drugs don’t work as well. Germs can even pass on resistance to other germs - DNA is passed from one bacteria to another.

Antibiotics normally work by killing the bacteria. Or they stop the bacteria from growing. But sometimes not all of them are stopped or killed. The strongest ones are left to grow and spread (survival of the fittest - Darwin is correct - ignorant idiots stop using medical advantage created by scientists and get the Darwin awards). A person can get sick again. This time the bacteria are harder to kill.

The more often a person uses an antibiotic, the more likely it is that the bacteria will resist it. This can make some diseases very hard to control. It can make you sick longer and more doctor visits. You may need to take drugs that are even stronger.

Of course all the tons of antibiotics used in factory farming (evil cruel and extremely unhealthy for us) do not help. They more than anything else cause resistance which is passed on from one species of bacteria to others.

Don't drink and think

At least it rhymes – kind of. Anyway what I meant to write is don’t mix some (many) medications.

Different drugs (often prescribed by different doctors) may be counter indicated and produce really nasty side effects.

Guidelines:

  • Do not self medicate or use any leftover drugs for something else.
  • Make a list of all drugs and supplements you are taking and review with your doctor.
  • Remember that just because it is natural does not mean that it will not damage you. Many supplements and over the counter medicines may interfere with prescription drugs.
  • Taking the same drug from different sources for different ailments can have you ingesting too much of the drug. For example too much pain killer acetaminophen (Tylenol)can cause liver damage. So if you take acetaminophen for arthritis and you take cold flue medicine you could easily exceed the safe limit.

Ultimately - be safe - read labels - consult your physician.

It's time to restart

OK my new website is up. Another of my blogs has a page rank of three. I have a few different test sites for money making. This one is for getting discounted and preowned Rolex watches.

It is time to restart “A Course in Miracles” again. This must be the tenth time. I once belonged to a group which met once a week to work on the course and one of my follow seekers talked about the fact that each time he started the course he would end up stopping by day twenty. It seems I have done the same quite a few times.

In fact I know the day on since I have done it so many times:

“Nothing in this room means anything.”

Now, I don’t remember if this is the exact words but that’s the spirit of the thought for day one.

This is the actual thought for day one:
Nothing I see in this room [on this street, from this window, in this place] means anything.

I’ll restart tomorrow May 21, 2008.

For now nothing on this computer monitor means anything.

Just added a directory

I just added a free internet directory on this site. Go there and add your link. A link back there would be appreciated. That would make you link more valuable. Please no adult sites. If it gets spamed, I’ll have to pull it down. Be kind.

Ten ways to live longer

I’m reading a wonderful book called “why good things happen to good people.” In one of the first chapters the authors write about love making you live longer. They mention ten ways of giving:

  1. Celebration: pure fun and joy. Celebration as a way of gratitude and giving.
  2. Generativity: nurturing people so they grow in wonderful unexpected ways.
  3. Forgiveness: As I have mentioned many times before. Forgiving is the linchpin of my hypnotherapy practice and my seminars.
  4. Courage: like that of Martin Luther King, Gandhi and Nelson Mandala.
  5. Humor: laugh your way to health and happiness.
  6. Respect: for self and others.
  7. Compassion: love’s response to suffering.
  8. Loyalty: through thick and thin, good and bad.
  9. ListeningL God gave us two ears and a single mouth…. Listen attentively with love.
  10. Creativity: in little and big ways. Write, draw, take photographs, do something new.

SOME BEST BUYS FOR COST AND NUTRITION

From the government information site:

Look for bargains on day-old bread and bakery products. Buy regular rice, oatmeal, and grits instead of the instant and flavored types.

Try whole-grain bread and brown rice to add nutrients and variety to family meals.

VEGETABLES AND SALADS: Look for large bags of frozen vegetables. They may be bargains and you can cook just the amount you need, close the bag tightly, and put the rest back in the freezer.

Foods at salad bars can be costly. Some food items— lettuce, cabbage, onions, and carrots— usually cost less in the produce section of the store than at the salad bar. But if you need only a small amount of a vegetable, buying at the salad bar can save money if it reduces the amount you waste.

FRUITS: Buy fresh fruits in season, when they generally cost less.

MILK: Nonfat dry milk is the least expensive way to buy milk. When using it as a beverage, mix it several hours ahead and refrigerate so it can get cold before drinking.

Buy fresh milk in large containers ( gallon or 1/ 2 gallon). These generally cost less than quarts.

Buy fat- free or lowfat milk to cut the amount of fat in your family’s meals. Note that children under 2 years of age should be given only whole milk. Remember that 2 percent fat milk has more than 38 percent of calories from fat.

MEAT AND POULTRY: Look for specials at the meat counter. Buying cuts of meat on sale can mean big savings for you.

Buy chuck or bottom round roast instead of sirloin. These cuts have less fat and cost less. They need to be covered during cooking and cooked longer to make the meat tender.

Buy whole chickens and cut them into serving size pieces yourself.

DRY BEANS AND PEAS: Use these sometimes instead of meat, poultry, or fish. They cost less and provide many of the same nutrients. They are also lower in fat.

BULK FOODS: Buy bulk foods when they are available. They can be lower in price than similar foods sold in packages. Also, you can buy just the amount you need.

Breasts, breasts, breasts.... and hypnosis!

I’m now recording my “DoctorJay Hypnotic Breast Enlargement System” audios. I got to the end of the audio where I realert the listener by counting up from one to five. I had been saying breast all through the audio and the was supposed to end with, “now that you are allowing your breasts to grow larger.” However, somehow after saying breasts so often I suddenly forgot how to pronounce it. It took me three times before I could say breasts satisfactorily.

By the way I realized that I have to produce a whole system with multiple cds. I don’t know yet exactly how many will be in the system but as usual, “All projects take longer than you imagine.”

So sorry guys your erectile dysfunction audio (perhaps this too will be a multi cd product) will have to wait.

But then if your wife, or girl friend has bigger boobs you won’t need the erectile dysfunction system, and if you don’t have any sexual dysfunction your wife or girl friend would be happy with her boobs.

Damn, I can't find mt breast book

As I have mentioned in the previous to posts I’m recording two new audios to put on my hypnosis site. One is on erectile dysfunction and the other is on breast enlargement. Both use hypnosis and are very safe and only enhance you and have positive side effects of general health, relaxation and well being. Many years ago I bought a book on the anatomy of the breast and breast cancer so I could know the anatomy of the breast when it came time to record this audio.

Now that the time has come, I searched in my library (I love books and have books two three deep on each shelf in many rooms of two homes) and the book is not around. noticing that people seem to be titillated by this topic I’m milking it for as much as possible while getting in as many puns and double entendres as my unconscious mind will come up with.

I mean I decided to write milking it and titillated in this post rather than the ones on erectile dysfunction and then noticed what I had written.

Anyway, I did find two other breast books that I had bought at the same time: Dressed to kill, the link between breast cancer and bras. I do remember it was a great book. I also know from watching various TV programs on the importance of having the right bra size. Go to someone who knows what she’s doing and make sure you have the right bra for you. You will look much better and feel much better.

More on erectile dysfunction

Are we having fun yet?

I remember being stiff (no not that part of the anatomy but we’ll get to that) between two chairs with my head and shoulders on one and my feet and ankles on the other chair. It was a hypnosis class and my teacher selected me since I was one of the best students in terms of being able to enter the trance state (I.E. I was and am a great hypnosis subject) for this demonstration.

I was laughing my head off since it is not often that you are stiff between two…

OK enough of the innuendo and nudge, nudge, wink, wink…. I grew up in England after all and double entendre is de riguer (as is the use of French terms).

Anyway, here I was stiff between the two chairs and laughing my head off while the professor asked, “Are you in a trance?”

And I would reply, “I don’t know.”

So he would say, “Do you normally stay stiff between two chairs like this.”

And I would be forced to say, “No!”

And so he would ask again, “Are you in a trance?” and the same reply….

He was demonstrating how difficult it is to know that you are in a trance.

Anyway eventually the demonstration was over and the professor thanked me by giving me the suggestion, “Now that you know you can stiffen your back at will, you know that you will always be able to stiffen any part of your anatomy at will.”

And, I think that my good genes, good nutrition, good exercise habits help a huge amount but I want to suggest to you that through hypnosis and trance you have the ability to overcome any psychogenic erectile dysfunction.

Actually when you relax your performance in everything will improve. So never imagine you are “on.” Just let go of yourself and have fun… fun… fun….

Soon all about erectile dysfunction

Up, up and away oh my beautiful balloon… No that’s not what it is, but the purpose is to get it up.

I am producing two hypnosis cds soon for sale on my hypnosis site. One is on erectile dysfunction and the other one is for breast augmentation. I know that various research studies have demonstrated that women can make their boobs larger through hypnosis.

I told this at a weight management seminar and a lady interrupted and said, “If I wanted to make my husband bigger I’d just feed him more hamburgers and fries.” So ladies I’m talking about your other boobs. The one’s you may wish to make bigger or even smaller….

Anyway this post is about erectile dysfunction. I’ll write about breast augmentation later….

I’m doing research on erectile dysfunction (no not by experiencing it myself) and noticing that the drugs one can take have a lot of negative side effects. Whereas hypnosis has only positive side effects such as relaxation of the mind so the parts of your body you want to be hard remains hard and the rest can remain relaxed….

I’ll write more as I do my research. The main point is to start with the placebo effect and boost it through mind/body control through hypnosis.

Origen

Origen was one of the Church fathers of the second century C.E. (184-254). Origen and the Neoplatonist Plotinus, studied under the same great teacher Ammonius Saccas in Alexandria. Origen accepted the truths of Platonism and other pagan writings, but believed that the Bible was the sole source of divine revelation.

Even though, Origen defended the Church against gnosticism, in retrospect his writings have much Gnostic influence. He believed the fires of hell were to purify the dross of the soul that life had not purified. Life was an evolutionary education through reincarnation to raise our vision from the physical senses to God through union with Christ in prayer.

Origen, in a debate against a heretic, stated that even the devil could be saved. This was consistent with his Neoplatonic/Christian belief in the gradual evolutionary perfection of the entire world. Origen refused to recant this statement of possibility and probability of salvation for all and spent the last twenty-five years of his life in exile.

Some quotes of Origen:

Many have tried to write gospels, but not all have found acceptance. You should know that not only four Gospels, but very many, were composed. The Gospels we have were chosen from among these gospels and passed on to the churches.

I am of opinion, then, that the working of the Father and of the Son takes place as well in saints as in sinners, in rational beings and in dumb animals; nay, even in those things which are without life, and in all things universally which exist.

There is no rational creature which is not capable both of good and evil. But it does not follow, that because we say there is no nature which may not admit evil, we therefore maintain that every nature has admitted evil, i.e., has become wicked. As we may say that the nature of every man admits of his being a sailor, but it does not follow from that, that every man will become so; or, again, it is possible for every one to learn grammar or medicine, but it is not therefore proved that every man is either a physician or a grammarian; so, if we say that there is no nature which may not admit evil, it is not necessarily indicated that it has done so. For, in our view, not even the devil himself was incapable of good; but although capable of admitting good, he did not therefore also desire i
