My name is Javad Hashtroudian. I have a doctorate in clinical hypnotherapy. Some people cannot remember Javad so I use my initial (J really not Jay) but anyway one of my clients started calling me doctor Jay so I got this URL. As well as my private practice I give seminars on many subjects including weight management, manifestation of your desires, relationships, stress management, performance anxiety, improving grades at school, and others as asked for. I give these seminars at my places or can travel to you which I call Doctor Jay does House calls. Contact me for further details.

Well kind of. I’m moving this blog to Wordpress. I’m leaving the current posts here and may later rewrite some of these posts in the new format so I can improve them.
Always be thankful. And I cannot think of a better time to be thankful than on Boxing day as the day after Christmas is called in the UK - I grew up in England and I still find it odd to write color rather than colour and football is what Manchester United play and hockey is played on grass….
Anyway back to being thankful. The more thankful you are the better your attitude and the more good things will happen to you.
Here are some new stores I put up:
OK I wanted to give myself some backlinks but the blogging software would not allow me to do that. Now I had the choice to get pissed or to appreciate the fact that computers are so cheap nowadays. I remember using my first computer in 1970. We communicated to the time share main frame with a teletype at 30 characters a second. Later in 1974 I programmed my first mini. I felt so good. I worked for a computer company (NCR) and so we had eight K of core (and if you understand what I’m talking about either you’re an old fart of a nerd like me or you know your computer history) and an eleven phase assembler which took about half an hour to assemble your code (you had to do lots and lots of paper coding and checking to make sure you did not make any mistakes)….
Anyway I felt so lucky and I thought if I could ever own a computer like the one I was programming I would be the luckiest person in the world and now even a 99 cent pocket calculator is much more powerful than that computer my guess is that the laptop I’m writing this on is a million times faster and I know it has 125,000 times more memory and then there is the Internet which only existed in DARPA at the time and at prehistoric speeds.
So I remembered all this and I chose to be thankful.
Anyway this blog program should allow me to give links to these two blogs and directory and they in turn have links to my commercial sites so the bots (short for robots or spiders) will notice these links and eventually spider all my new sites.
The point is, also, that when you are happy and you are thankful you’ll come up with better solutions to any problem.
The other day was in a seminar and the speaker said rather than just doing it do it better. Now that does not mean do it better than the next person but do it better than the last time or just improve whatever you do. Of course there are times things get much worse but in general we can improve if we keep a great attitude.
Recently a few disasters have happened to me which strengthened me and made a better human being and that, ultimately, is the only thing that matters.
Actually as it happens I was listening to an audio tape by Napoleon Hill and he emphasized the utter importance of having a positive attitude.
A young cat was searching his own tail. A wise old alley tom cat was passing by and asked the young cat what he was doing. The young cat smiled and said, “I went to the cat university and studied philosophy sand the meaning of life and I discovered that the secret of happiness lies in one’s tail and I’m trying to bite my own tail and thus have happiness at hand for the rest of my time.”
The tom cat said, “I have never been to any cat universities and I don’t understand philosophy but I too have discovered that happiness lies in my tail, and I found out hat if I just go about my way freely without a care happiness will always follow me.”
“The long tail” is a principle in marketing and you’ll find three short articles about it here.
OK I admit it. I’m an intellectual and I’m extremely proud of it. Give me any cerebral work and I’ll relish it and excel at the task (no time for false modesty - after all in reality I did nothing to have a very high IQ so its really none of my doing my genes and my parent’s great upbringing did that).
However, between nature and nurture I am hopeless in mechanical things (again no false immodesty - I did not really contribute to either being good at some things or being hopeless at others - the difference is that I can take responsibility and improve myself).
So today I had to unscrew a coat hanger from the wall. The first screw came out OK (it was difficult but brute force and ignorance won the day). The head of the second one was worn (stripped I learned later is the correct term) and no matter what I did (I’m good at theoretical aspects of most problem solving things) I could not do anything about it.
Anyway after a few minutes of search I found the right site (I first was searching for “how to unscrew a bad screw.” In retrospect I should be glad yahoo search engine did not send me to some weird porn sites but during a minor crises you don’t have your mind in the gutter (mine is there the other 99.99% of the time.
Eventually the idea of worn came to my mind and I got to this page and now the stripped screw is out and I’m a minor hero to my wife and more importantly to myself.
OK the point of thanking is what I was writing about. Every web site needs people to link to it. So if you have a website and you find something useful on another person’s site please give them a link. It’s a great way to thank someone and has wonderful karma and brings you success and prosperity.
An while you are about it (especially if you are a bot or spider) go visit this post about attitude.
